COACHES CODE OF CONDUCT

As a volunteer coach for our youth camp, you play a vital role in shaping the character, skills, and experiences of the young athletes you mentor. To ensure a positive, safe, and enriching environment, we ask all coaches to commit to the following Code of Conduct:

1. Prioritize Safety and Well-Being

  • Always put the safety, health, and well-being of the participants first.

  • Be aware of and address any potential hazards on the field or at camp stations.

  • Ensure that athletes are participating at appropriate skill levels to prevent injuries.

2. Promote Respect and Inclusion

  • Treat all athletes, parents, staff, and fellow coaches with respect and courtesy.

  • Encourage teamwork and inclusion regardless of ability, gender, race, or background.

  • Address any form of bullying, teasing, or exclusion promptly and appropriately.

3. Demonstrate Positive Behavior

  • Serve as a role model by displaying good sportsmanship, integrity, and professionalism.

  • Refrain from using profanity, engaging in negative behavior, or showing frustration toward players, parents, or officials.

  • Encourage effort and celebrate improvement, not just results.

4. Communicate Effectively

  • Provide constructive feedback in a positive and supportive manner.

  • Use language and tone that build confidence and understanding.

  • Maintain open and respectful communication with parents and staff.

5. Commit to Learning and Growth

  • Be prepared and organized for each session, ensuring drills and activities are age-appropriate and engaging.

  • Stay informed about best practices in coaching and youth development.

  • Accept feedback from staff or fellow coaches to improve your performance.

6. Follow Camp Policies and Guidelines

  • Adhere to the rules and regulations established by the camp organizers.

  • Respect the schedules, equipment, and facilities provided for the program.

  • Be punctual and fulfill all responsibilities for your assigned station or team.

7. Protect the Integrity of the Program

  • Ensure that your actions align with the camp’s mission to create a positive, safe, and fun environment for all participants.

  • Avoid any conflicts of interest or inappropriate behavior that could jeopardize the reputation of the camp.

8. Zero Tolerance for Misconduct

  • Refrain from any actions that could harm the physical or emotional well-being of participants, including harassment, discrimination, or inappropriate contact.

  • Immediately report any suspected misconduct to the camp director or designated personnel.
