Mandatory Background Checks
Background checks are required for all:

  • Head Coaches

  • Assistant Coaches

  • Team Managers

  • League Staff

  • Any team personnel with direct access to youth participants

All background screenings are conducted through Protect Youth Sports (Verity), our primary national screening provider.

Protect Youth Sports specializes in volunteer and youth-based organization screening and provides:

  • National criminal database search

  • National sex offender registry check

  • Social Security number (SSN) identity verification

  • Address history verification

  • Re-verification of all criminal record hits for accuracy

  • Access to child safety training resources

All fees associated with mandatory background checks are paid by Legendary Sports Xperiences, LLC.
Coordinators strictly enforce this policy. Volunteer shirts, credentials, and official team rosters are not issued until the required background screening has been successfully completed.

Purpose of Background Screening
Our screening program is designed to:

  1. Promote a safe, nurturing, and supportive athletic environment where youth athletes can pursue their goals.

  2. Provide parents and guardians with confidence and peace of mind when allowing their child to participate in flag football.

  3. Serve as a preventative risk-management measure to reduce potential safety concerns.

Important Notice:
Background screening is not intended as a profiling tool and cannot guarantee that incidents will never occur. It is designed as a preventative safeguard to promote athlete safety.
